Merging Transactions

Last Updated: September 5, 2023

Register will allow you to Merge two or more transactions into a single transaction. For example, in the Hospitality Industry, a Table of four people might have at the start of ordering, requested that their bill be separate, but during or after their meal ask that only one bill be given. This merge functionality will allow you to do this

NOTES

  • Transaction Suspending needs to be active
    • If suspending Locally, only transactions suspended on the device can be merged.
    • If suspending to the server, any transaction can be merged. The exception to this rule is when using pre-authorizations!
      • In this scenario, if there are multiple pre-authorized transactions, only one can be merged with other transactions that do not contain pre-authorizations.
  • If the transactions have different Customers assigned, Register will prompted you to select only one Customer from a list of all assigned Customers, for the Merged Transaction.
  • As with assigned customers, if the transactions contain differing items such as surcharges or discounts, Register will prompt you to make a selection.
  • Age verification might need to be carried out a second time, if the selected customer does not meet the requirements or if no customers are assigned during the merging process.
