When a terminal is no longer needed by a particular merchant account, it's useful to have the device cleared of merchant information so that it can be programmed again.
- Connect the terminal to a working network connection, either Wi-Fi or ethernet.
- Email a request to wipe the Poynt terminal to poyntwipes[at]goboomtown.com
- After the request is received and approved, the wipe process will begin. The wipe typically takes approximately five minutes to complete after approval.
- After the wipe completes, the device is ready to be re-provisioned for another merchant.
After the wipe has been completed, the terminal will no longer be visible on Poynt.net on either the terminal search or merchant account.
Billing for the wiped terminal will cease as of the following month. For example, If a device is wipes on August 5, you will be billed for August but not for september or going forward.
