Age Verification

Register has the functionality to force the verification of either a Staff Member’s or Customer’s age when selling or buying products that are restricted by law to certain ages.

When Age Verification is used
  • When the product requires that a Staff Member be of a certain age, the Register will prompt for authorization by another valid Staff Member to allow the sale.
  • When the product requires that a Customer be of a certain age, the Register will prompt for verification that the Customer’s age has been confirmed before allowing the product to be added to the basket.
  • When validating a product and the validation is failed;
    • If that product is the first item to be added to the basket, the whole transaction will be cancelled and will appear in the Cancel Sales Report
    • If the Product is not the first item in the basket, the Register will automatically void the product from the transaction, and this will appear in the Voided Items Report.
  • If a Customer has been added to the transaction whose date of birth is stored in the customer’s details, and a product is added to the transaction that requires age verification, then
    • If the Customers age is above the requirement, the Register will not prompt you to verify the age.
    • If the Customers age is below the requirement, the Register will not allow you to add the product.

Function Access – Staff Member Age Approval
Reasons – Enable Age Verification Reasons
  • Set to NO to only require a Yes or No answer to the Validation.
  • Set to YES to use the predefined reasons when validating.
    • Validation reasons are in the Lists
  • Select All POS Users to allow any POS user to verify another Staff members Age.
  • Select Supervisors Only to allow only Supervisors to verify the Staff members age.
    With both options, the Staff Members age must be added to the Staff Profile
